Creating Jewelry with Intention & Passion
Justin Bortz began doing custom design and repairs out of a small office space in 1989, called Judd Bortz Specialties, before opening a storefront on Penn Avenue in 1991. The store changed names and appearance over the years while maintaining a strong focus on unique designs. Since 2020, Justin Bortz Jewelry Designs has operated as a mobile concierge service, designing and creating custom pieces for clients anywhere. Justin's vision has always been to create jewelry with intention, passion, and often times with a spiritual edge.
We have been in the business of designing beautiful and unique custom jewelry for over 30 years. What sets us apart is our focus on creating pieces that are not only artful but meaningful - every creation has a story behind it!
We pride ourselves on offering the highest level of expertise and precision in everything we do. Whether designing a custom engagement or wedding band, repurposing your old jewelry into something new, or designing any custom piece, you can be confident that you'll receive the highest quality of service and knowledge. We procure most of our gems from Idar-Oberstein, Germany, the same as the most famous, top design houses around the world. We don't compromise when it comes to designing jewelry, and will search far and wide to make you happy!
Justin Bortz started New World Jewellers in June of 1989 with a background in goldsmithing, design, and a graduate gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America, where he graduated at the top of his class. Justin also has a pearl graduate degree (GIA) and is a registered jeweler with the American Gem Society.
